Ms. Amato has practiced criminal defense before the Superior Court for the District of Columbia for more than 20 years, handling over 1,000 cases during that period. While practicing exclusively in Superior Court over several years, she developed a keen knowledge of trial practice before the Court. Her representations include individuals charged with misdemeanor criminal offenses as well as serious felony cases. She handles homicides, and other violent crimes, drug offenses, assaults, thefts, as well as gun offenses and protestor cases. She has tried jury cases and non-jury judge trials before the Superior Court, often representing Spanish speaking and some French speaking persons charged with criminal cases before that Court.
